The Body Shop Balancing Oil free Foundation shade no 07

Hello pretty ladies! How are you all doing??
Am into a search for the bestest foundation for my skin.So I end up buying so many of them ,that I have Leftovers!!!!
Today I will be reviewing My BODY SHOP  BALANCING OIL FREE FOUNDATION
I have it in shade 07.

The BODY SHOP balancing  Oil free foundation.
A range of innovative lightweight, oil free balancing SPF 15 foundations that provides medium to full coverage for a luxuriously smooth, matte, shine-free and healthy-looking finish. Dermatologically tested.

Size: 30ml

It is available in 10 shades online, though at the store I saw only 7 ..

PRICE 1045 INR,but I got it for Rs 845 INR

My experience with the product..
This comes in a plastic box with a pump
I loove this foundation...absolutely.
I have oily combination skin, which becomes oily slick in mumbai summers. This product is a great matte effect foundation.IT controls oiliness..and gives a glow to the face....not dewy though.
The coverage is sheer to medium.
It does not give a cakey look when applied.
also It does not flake or give me patchy skin(although I make sure to moisturize really well).
When I apply it with loose powder,(TBS loose powder),It settles down and  gives a very nice glow!!

The lasting power is good  ,around 6-7 hours on a humid day in AC...In a non AC environment,I do need a touch up/blot ups after 4 hours!!
It does not oxidise on me.

PROS
Plastic bottle(though it s a pro for me,its a known fact that glass bottles keep foundations better.
good coverage.
goes on well blends well...i use my brush or fingers
good oil control.
matte finish(you can combine this with a shimmery blush /highlighter for a dewy cheek look..).
lasts fairly well.
does not oxidise
Many shades available,so easy to find one that matches you
Reasonable (tho  not cheap).

CONS:
none as per me...
What is your Holy grail foundation????tell me!!!

THE BODY SHOP SEAWEED CLEANSER,TONER AND DAY CREAM..REVIEWS

hello everyone ,
today I will review 3 products together. These 3 products belong to the same family of skin care, from The Body Shop
I had purchased them around  2 weeks ago and have been using them since then regularly
They are :
  1. The Body shop SEA WEED  purifying cleanser.
  2. The Body ShopSEA WEED clarifying toner.
  3. The Body Shop SEA WEED mattifying cream.
I will review the Cleanser and toner first.

Both the products belong to the sea weed range which is for combination to oily skin(my skin belongs to this type).
Both come in a bottle with a flip top.Pretty sturdy packaging and the locking is perfect. No spills(have carried them in my bag too, when i travelled.)Only little bulky for day to day carrying e.g to work.
The quantity is    200      ml each
MADE MY WALLET LIGHTER BY  :Rs 545/- EACH

FRAGRANCE:Both of the have a very pleasant mild fragrance, nothing overpowering. Its like the ocean and very ummmmmmmmm..misty..love it..

TEXTURE

CLEANSER it has  a smooth milky texture.Neither too thick, nor too runny.spreads easily.
I find it very effective as a cleanser.Have been using it to remove my makeup also, of late, and find it really nice.NOT OILY at all.NO sticky after feel
Once or twice ,I used it to clean my eye makeup(I had run out of my regular eye makeup remover) and it worked superbly well.NO stinging the eyes.Am now planning to continue this as my eye makeup remover too.But for all,who want to try this as an eye MU remover, please try it a bit first on your eyes.

TONER  :is like any other toner.Clear in appearance and beautifully fragranced.
IT works very well to close my pores.NOW you might find this next line a bit  weird, when i use this ,I always get a tingling sensation on my face esp in my Tzone.I never got it with my previous toner(neutrogena).I feel my product is working on me.I loveeeeee it...:)
I noted that this cleanser does not make me feel dry or itch at my face after application.I used to feel strecthy on my face after my previous one.
It almost immediately gives a glow to the face and refreshes it.
Rating
Cleanser 5/5
Toner 5/5
Will I buy again???? both products yes ,definitely the toner though...love the feel!!

AND NOW THE CREAM
THE BODY SHOP SEA WEED MATTIFYING  DAY CREAM  FOR COMBINATION OILY SKIN

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
(from the site)
An easily absorbed, non-clogging, oil-free, hydrating gel-like moisture cream. It controls excess sebum and shine whilst delivering essential moisture to areas most in need, balancing the skin throughout the day. Leaves skin feeling fresh, clean, soft and supple with a shine free, matte complexion.

MADE MY WALLET LIGHTER BY: Rs 695/-!!! l
QUANTITY : 50 ml!!
PACKAGING: It comes in a tub form, which in my opinion is extremely unhygienic. On opening the lid there is another cover which prevents leakage.
FRAGRANCE:Oceanic and misty..very similar to the cleanser toner
TEXTURE:
the consistency is gel like ,though not clear gel.Its slightly milky.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE CREAM:
This cream is for mattifying and giving a oil free look.On using it:
It  spreads very  easily. There is a very small amount needed for application.
It is not sticky on application  but takes a long time to get absorbed into my skin. around 4-5 minutes for complete absorption. The first time I thought it was because the quantity taken by me was more than needed, but even if I take a small amount,IT does not dry up quickly.
It does not form a sticky layer after absorption though.while applying it feels good and refreshing.
I was expecting it to have good amount of oil control.SADLY, that's not the case.and my skin, mind you is not really oily!!!!
I did not get a dry  stretchy feel either which I get with other gels..but as far as mattifiaction is concerned ,NADA!!!
PROS:Few really!!!
  • Only feels smooth and goes on slick.
  • Makes me refreshed

CONS!!
No mattifiaction (that's the primary claim!!)
Poor oil control
Takes time to assimilate into the skin..
very expensive for the effect achieved
NO SPF!!and its a day cream!!!!!!!!
No change in my skin ( I have gotten very good results with Loreal white day cream...like a glow after using it for 3-4 days.feeling my skin texture improve ..etc..

Will i buy it again : NO way!!!! totally not value for money

Do you own any of these products??
What are your experiences....???
Tell me  soon!!
bye for now

The Body Shop Loose Powder review

hey everybody.........
as you all know I had hauled some TBS products a few days ago.One of them was the TBS loose powder,on the advice of Ankita from Corallista makeup blog here .Thanks Ankita, its awesome.
I have an combination oily skin which tends to become more oily in the summers.I also have started using the MAc satinfinish mineralize foundation, which is very dewy.

So needed a loose powder to set my makeup .I used to think that loose powders are for light coverage and pressed ones for a more opaque one.Boy,was i wrong. Karen of makeupandbeautyblog.com has this video where she talks about both .Check it out here .

ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The powder comes in a small plastic box with a screw able steel lid.On opening the lid there is a plastic lid with holes covered with a plastic film.
The film has to be removed prior to use.
QUANTITY: 14 gm. expiry date 36 months

MAKES  MY WALLET LIGHTER BY RS 800/-INR.

Here is a look
THE TBS LOOSE POWDER 03

this is me with the powder!!
Products used
The Body Shop loose powder in 03
MAC studio finish concealer
Orange corrector
The Body Shop blush no 10 read review here
MAC graph black techna kohl eye liner read review here
Lakme eyeshadow quad peacock
Beyu eye primer
Revlon color stay lipstick fabulous fig read review here

  • The TBS Loose powder in shade 03,is a super fine loose powder. It gives a medium to full coverage(depends on application).
  • It gives a matte look after application and makes my T zone oil free.
  • It helps to set my makeup .
  • I usually use it over my MAC satinfinish mineralize foundation.
  • I have also used it on my  naked face without foundation.I conceal my dark circles and use only the powder, which gives a super glow to my face which is oil free..
PROS
soft,silky feel
Good coverage
Mattifies the face
Keeps makeup on longer (definitely, for 5-6 hours). This is especially good for people who live in humid climates.e.g mumbai.

CONS
  • The case has holes which has to be tilted for the powder to reach the brush. This causes wastage and I hate that coz its not cheap at all.
  • There is no brush available.Currently I use my TBS powder brush.
  • Price for quantity of product is too much.

Rating 4/5..so many cons!
REPURCHASE??? yes,but will be trying out MAC next first...If thats better( which I am pretty sure ,is) then buhbye to this one

Have you all used this powder yet?whats your experience with this???
let me know by commenting on my post.

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Polish Review

hello..today i will be reviewing The Body Shop Satsuma Body Polish .
A body polish is essentially a scrub or an exfoliator to remove dead cells and reveal smooth skin.
WHAT THE TBS SITE DESCRIBES IT AS :

Satsuma Body Polish

  • Best if you want to: Reveal softer, smoother skin with a gel-based, foaming scrub loaded with exfoliating crushed walnut shells and loofah particles.
  • Best for: normal skin, suitable for daily use
  • How it works:
    • Orange essential oil is known to uplift, refresh and energize the senses and provides a naturally sweet citrus fragrance.
    • Satsuma juice is rich in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect and nourish skin, and provides a naturally zesty scent and orange color.
    • Community Trade organic honey moisturizes and conditions skin

MAKES THE WALLET LIGHTER BY: RS 445  INR

USAGE   : take a small anonunt on palm and rub over the body ,either directly or with the help of a loofah lily.Rub in circular motions.Wash off with water.

MY EXPERIENCE :I needed a very very small amount. It spreads really easily .Slickly rather..also lather is good enough.I did not use any loofah or scrub.
After washing off a very citrusy smell lingers all over.To complete your routine you can use Satsuma body butter.I did not buy that as yet, since my Stawberry body butter is still a loonnng way to go.
Skin felt nice ,citrusy and squeaky clean.
I  was using dove body wash prior to this but ever felt this clean. This may be due to the exfoliating contents of this polish.

    PROS:
    good exfoliation
citrusy SMELLand a fresh fresh feeling  (very very good for the summers)
HYGIENIC  since in a  tube form.I have also used their body scrubs in strawberry which comes in a tub.I dont like to dip my fingers in.
SMALL amount needed and spreads easily.will go a long way( I hope since i have just used it once)
    Travel friendly.

    CONS:
    Expensive.
slightly sweet smell of satsuma oranges which may be not liked by some.
